New Directions has fallen on hard times and teacher Will Schuester has taken the task of restoring the glee club to its former glory. With an unlikely group of students including a couple of football players, a few cheerleaders, a male soprano, a potential diva, and the girl who believes she will be a star, the glee club works to perform at first the sectional then the regional competition. The show has included plot lines ranging from teen pregnancy, to angst over sexual orientation, to the clique driven world of high school, to the separation and divorce of Mr. Schuester.

While the story arcs and characters are well written and well acted, the real star of the show is the music. Each week, the show includes jaw dropping musical numbers ranging from Lady Gaga to KISS; from Les Miserables to Journey; from Madonna to “The Lady is a Tramp.” The cast moves from song to song and from style to style with ease and continuously provides excellent music with a dramatic twist. Whether the song is classic rock, Broadway musical, funk, or modern rock, the cast shows their musical chops by performing each song in an exciting and well done manner.

The show has been a ratings success for FOX and has spawned five music CDs featuring the cast and numbers from the show. These albums have included compilation volumes from the shows, and one album dedicated to the show’s “The Power of Madonna” episode. So why do so many people still choose to play Vinyl when you can instantly download all of your favorite tunes at the click of a mouse? Perhaps Vinyl fans may seem to  todays musical youth like a bunch of technophobes and Musical Dinosaurs (my self included!)! Don’t get me wrong downloading, Cd’s, ipods and all the other techno apparel that has brought the music industry screaming digitally into the 21st century and are great, great in your car…or out for a walk, everywhere that carrying a turntable would be ridiculous!! Perhaps I’m being Nostalgic, and perhaps a bit 20th century…

If you are of a certain age you will remember a time when a band brought out an album and it was like a major event! It was really exciting! Having been tantalised for weeks or even months by the music industry about the forthcoming event you would rush to the store, leaf through the rows of vinyl, pull out the records and actually look at the pictures on the cover. Sometimes they came with posters, bonus tracks, sometimes the vinyl itself was coloured, or an import, or a coveted limited edition! It was so satisfying to pull out the inner sleeve, switch on the deck, blow the dust from the needle, then listen to the whir of the turntable and the gentle scratch as the needle hits the vinyl….

 Ah…they were the days! I guess it is a personal experience. Don’t get me wrong I have CD’s! They are great, handy, convenient, but somehow, sometimes just too handy and too convenient! Don’t get me wrong, have Cd’s can travel, Ipods too… but when you are at home nothing can beat the ‘feel’ of a record…the sound is more in the moment… more organic…  Read more...

Each Christmas song is unique in its own way.  It remains in our mind for a long time and we never get bored with it. Maybe because  listening of Christmas music take place only at Christmas time or because has unique blast. Christmas songs are melodic, romantic, creating good mood and a sense of euphoria of pending holiday. Traditional Christmas songs are performed by centuries during the Christmas Ceremony. They have modern sounds, which every year becomes more and more bizarre.

Over time the new Christmas music become modern and acquire new sense, a new rhythm and belongs to very different style. For example, has repeatedly posed Heavy Metal Christmas songs. It sounds quite strange but it stands with the new trends of music.

We all know old Christmas songs, which sound in shopping malls, offices and restaurants each year at Christmas time. Some of them we like, so they assist us to create the Christmas mood even more festive. Others, however sound already irritating for us, and we ask ourselves “When there will be finally something new” This year the answer is “There are something really new in Christmas sounding”. There is xMmus, which will exceed our expectations for Christmas sounding. We can listen to Christmas music online too as per our convenience.
